Centrifuging Equipment of 2.5 liter, A centrifuging equipment is meant for separating dissolved material from a solvent. The end product may be the solvent with required size of particles or the precipitated solid. Present system was fabricated for a pharmaceutical industry for R&D purpose.
  1. The unit consists of 7 major parts.
  2. Container for dissolved solvent.
  3. Container for collecting the filtered solvent.
  4. A replaceable SS mesh size being selected based on particle size requirement.
  5. Manually controlled drain valve.
  6. A motor driven stirrer.
  7. A speed control device with power supply.
  8. The SS mesh frame is between the two containers and freely sits on a cone shape unit with manual operated drain valve.
  9. Both the containers are rigidly fixed one over the other with flanges, suitable gasket and nut bolts.
  10. The motor operated stirrer was fixed to the lid on the top container, where the particle dissolved solvent was kept.
  11. The DC motor speed control unit is connected to the motor and has a speed control is by a knob on the controller.
  1. The top container contains particle dissolved solvent. The motor/stirrer rotates at a maximum speed of 600 rpm. Depending on the requirement the speed can be varied.
  2. After operating for required time, the solvent can be drained in to the bottom container by opening the drain valve.
  3. Once the solvent is fully drained in to the bottom container, the precipitated particles will remain on the mesh frame.
  4. Now open the nut bolts and separate both containers. The mesh frame can be taken out to collect precipitated particles if it is the desired output.
  5. The contents of the bottom container can be collected if that is the desired output.
